Refund Policy

Our commitment: We stand behind every song we create. Your 1 free revision is included with every order — it's the primary way we make things right. In the cases listed below where a revision isn't enough, we offer a full refund. We want you to be happy with your song.

Every Storied Song order comes with one (1) free revision and our 100% Happiness Guarantee. If your song isn't right, we will fix it. The revision process exists specifically so that we can get your song exactly where it needs to be.

This policy is designed to be honest and fair — protective of you as a customer, and workable for us as a small business creating custom digital goods. Please read it fully before placing your order.

Custom-created digital content cannot be "returned" in the traditional sense once delivered and accessed. Our refund policy reflects both this reality and our genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.

First Step: Use Your Free Revision

Before requesting a refund, please use your included free revision. Most issues — wrong tone, missing details, a lyric that doesn't land — are resolved through the revision process.

How to request your revision

Reply to the email containing your delivered song within 14 days of receiving it

Describe specifically what you'd like changed — tone, genre, a missing detail, a lyric that doesn't feel right

We'll create your revised song and deliver it within the same timeframe as your original order

The more specific your revision request, the better the result. "Make it sound happier" is helpful. "Add the part about her coffee obsession and make the chorus less melancholy" is even better.

When We Issue a Refund

We will issue a full refund in the following circumstances:

1. Song not delivered on time

If your song is not delivered within 48 hours of the stated deadline (4–5 business days for Standard, 24 hours for Rush), and you have contacted us at hello@storiedsong.com and we are still unable to deliver it, you are entitled to a full refund.

2. Song does not match your order

If the song we deliver is in a genre you did not select, has a tone opposite to what you requested (e.g., you ordered heartfelt and received a comedy song), and your free revision did not resolve this, we will issue a full refund.

3. Duplicate charge

If you were charged more than once for the same order, we will refund all duplicate charges immediately upon verification.

4. Order we cannot fulfill

If we determine that we cannot fulfill your order for any reason — including if your submission violates our prohibited content policy — we will refund you in full.

5. Cancellation before production starts

If you contact us to cancel your order before we have begun production, we will issue a full refund. Contact us immediately at hello@storiedsong.com, as we begin work promptly after orders are received.

When We Do Not Issue Refunds

Consistent with best practices for custom digital services, refunds are not available in the following situations:

EU and UK Customers — 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, consumer protection law generally provides a 14-day right to cancel digital services. However, this right may be waived when:

By placing an order with Storied Song, you expressly request that we begin producing your song immediately after your order is confirmed, and you acknowledge that once your song has been delivered you waive your 14-day right of withdrawal. We begin production promptly — this allows us to meet our fast delivery commitments.

If you wish to preserve your 14-day cancellation right, contact us before your song is delivered at hello@storiedsong.com and we will pause production.

How to Request a Refund

Include your order confirmation number, the email address used to place the order, and a brief description of the reason for your request

We will review your request and respond within 2 business days

If approved, refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer

Chargebacks

We understand that contacting your bank or card issuer for a chargeback can feel like the fastest solution when you're frustrated. However, we ask that you contact us first at hello@storiedsong.com — we respond quickly and resolve issues fairly.

Initiating a chargeback for a delivered digital product where these Terms have been satisfied may result in the order being documented with Stripe as a dispute and could affect future transactions. We maintain complete records of all orders and deliveries.

If a chargeback is filed for a delivered order where no refund eligibility exists under this policy, we reserve the right to contest the dispute with full documentation of service delivery.
